The wedding ceremony will take place at the Windsor Castle on 19 May, following which will be a lunchtime reception at St George's Hall, which is being given by the Queen. The wedding invitations were printed by Barnard and Westwood, which has the "Royal Warrant for Printing & Bookbinding by Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen" since 1985. The invites use American ink but are printed in gold and black. They were then die-stamped in gold and then polished so that they bring out the shine. The method used for printing these cards was also traditional. All the 600 cards were made on an old machine from the 1930s.

The invitations gave the dress code for the guests for the ceremony. The dress code is uniform, morning coat or lounge suit for men and a day dress with a hat for women. Former soldier Prince Harry, who is now Captain General of Royal Marines, could be seen in a uniform for the ceremony. After the wedding ceremony, about 200 guests have been invited for the evening reception at Frogmore House. It is the same place where the couple had posed for their engagement pictures. The Prince of Wales will be giving this reception.
