PM Narendra Modi Interacts With 'Humans of Bombay', Shares His Childhood Journey to Becoming a Politician

Mumbai, January 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his childhood memories through a Mumbai-based organisation, Humans of Bombay. The official Facebook page of the organisation posted a story on January 5 giving a detailed account of Prime Minister's journey of how he faced hardships during his childhood and went on to become a politician. The organisation posted only the first of five-part of PM's interaction. In his childhood, PM Modi never dreamt of becoming a prime minister.

PM Modi’s family of eight lived in a 40x12 feet house. He said that the house was small but was enough to accommodate his family. PM Modi's interaction with Humans of Bombay:

PM Modi narrated that his mother was not educated by was god gifted to cure ailments. She used to line up outside her house every morning because she was known for her healing touch. Prime Minister Modi in his childhood helped her father to open a tea stall at the railway station, after which he used to run to his school. Modi helped his father after his school gets over. He said. “What I really looked forward to was meeting people from all over the country. I would serve them tea and listen to their stories – that’s how I learnt to speak Hindi. Prime Minister Modi attended the first meeting of Rashtriya Satyamsewak Sangh when he was only eight years of age. He set up a food stall when he was nine years of age to help the victims of the floods in parts of Gujarat. The PM said, “If the way was ever difficult, I made my own way.” He narrated that he used to iron his clothes by heating some coal, use an old ‘lota’, wrap a cloth around it.

'Humans of Bombay' posted only the first part of PM's interaction sharing his childhood journey and how he came in touch with the RSS. In run-up to the polls, the BJP is highly banking on Modi's personal charisma, along with the work done by his government in the last 5 years. The candid conversation with the Humans of Bombay is one of the mediums through which the supporters of Modi would be further intrigued by his rugged journey.
