Patna, April 6: Bihar's former health minister and elder son of  Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap, is set to get married in the month of May. According to media reports, the former Bihar chief minister's son will get engaged in April itself with the marriage ceremony is scheduled in the month of May. Tej Pratap, who is active in politics, is set to tie the knot and settle down with Aishwarya Rai, the daughter of Chandrika Prasad Rai, a former minister of the state. Aishwarya is also the granddaughter of former Bihar chief minister Daroga Rai.

Little is known about Aishwarya except the fact that she is the daughter of Chandrika Prasad Rai and granddaughter of Daroga Prasad Rai- the ex-chief minister of the state of Bihar. The video below shows the pictures of Aishwarya Rai and her family members.

The marriage ceremony is expected to take place on May 12 after the engagement in April. The report goes on to mention that the engagement ceremony will be hosted at Hotel Maurya in Patna on April 18. However, the marriage venue was kept under wraps and there was no word about it but livecities claims that the marriage ceremony venue will be Veterinary college in Patna. But the report claims that the marriage ceremony will be attended by over 10,000 people and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be sent an official invitation to attend the marriage ceremony.

In 2017, Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi had declared during a press conference in Patna, that they would not take dowry in the marriages of their two sons – Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. Dowry, though illegal, is prevalent in large parts of the country and is a big social evil in the Hindi heartland which has almost achieved the status of inevitably when it comes to marriages. “We are completely against dowry system and will not take one paisa from the bride’s family when my two sons are ready to get married,” Lalu had said according to a media report. But Rabri Devi, the wife of Lalu Prasad and former chief minister of Bihar had kicked up a controversy last year when she had said that she won't get a bahu(daughter-in-law) who "goes to mall" and wanted Gharelu (homely) daughter-in-laws.

The news of Tej Pratap's marriage has taken the political world and Bihar by surprise as the RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav is behind bars for his involvement in the fodder scam case. Lalu Prasad has been convicted by the court in multiple cases related to the multi-crore fodder scam. But this sudden news has generated interest among the political observers and people of Bihar as Lalu will be out of jail temporarily and for some days. It is also expected that he will discuss the future strategy of his party with his sons Tej Pratap and Tejaswi Yadav.
