People from all walks of life these days have been going vegan over the last couple of years. It seems like the world is waking up to become more sensitive and trading chronic diseases for compassion and longevity. They say it is incredible if you can ditch the meat and go vegan—a sure baby step of saving the planet. But non-profit organisation - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals aka PETA - seems to insist on advertising one reason to eat more vegetables- sex. Yes, the organisation has recently shared a cringe-worthy video of men sporting oversized greens as swinging genitalia. Think long carrots, beefy marrows, brinjals and so on as penis! #BoycottGillette Trends, Men Discard Products Protesting Against Men Grooming Brand’s Latest Ad.
While sharing the video, PETA tweeted, “’Traditional’ masculinity is DEAD. The secret to male sexual stamina is veggies.” Along with the new advert, the animal rights organisation also attached an article on their website claiming, “The APA links toxic 'traditional' masculinity to violence - which is also deadly to animals. Why men should go vegan.” The said article, states that the American Psychological Association connects “traditional masculine ideology with traits like bullying and violence - two major red flags for animal abuse.” This in no circumstance means that those who eat meat are violent bullies!

The reference to masculinity could be the group’s answer to Gillette’s hugely popular recent ad encouraging men to be better. However, the primary or only point that PETA stressed upon in the video is that going vegan improves your sexual stamina.

We get it, that going vegan could improve your overall health, and could also improve your sexual performance, as erectile dysfunction is linked to physical health causes. But why path men as sex-crazed beasts? Social media users are not impressed with the ad. An outraged Twitter user commented, “PETA’s new ad campaign features men dancing around with veggies attached to their junk. This ad is honestly cringeworthy.” Final thought—it will not be wrong saying that the campaign focused on large genitalia and it is a whole desperate strategy on PETA’s part to promote their brand.
