One would find the sight of a peacock so delightful. But residents of Surrey, British Columbia have to deal with the menace of these colourful birds! The Sullivan Heights area has a lot of population of these birds which have now taken to damaging property and how. One would not believe that peacocks can be a cause of luxury destruction. The peacocks have started attacking cars after spotting their own reflection in the window panes. As funny as it may sound, it has become a cause of quite some distress among the residents, who can well be called victims to the peacock troubles.

The damages are costing the car owners almost thousands of dollars for repairs. The dark coloured cars clearly show the reflection of the birds and thinking it to be another peacock, the birds start using their beaks, incurring great damages on the cars. "They'll get the front panel, the side panel, the rear panel, and then work around to the other side," one of the residents was quoted in a report. Peacocks often stare for long hours at their own reflections on these cars.

Check the peacock creating a menace in the neighbourhood:

The residents have been sharing a neighbourhood with the feral peacocks for many years. But recently these birds have become a big problem. They turn noisy and can even get a child up from its sleep. The windows had to be compulsorily closed at all times because the birds created a commotion. If the noise problem was not enough, the birds have taken to damage property. The birds are affecting the daily life of the nearby residents. This time of the year happens to be their mating season so the noise only gets louder. To keep the situation under control, there have been orders not to entertain the birds and provide them with any food. Anyone caught doing those will be fined. While the humans may control their habits, the peacocks are not. There is no clear legislative responsibility to control this situation, only adding to the problems of the residents.
