Hundreds of people took part in annual cheese-rolling race in Gloucestershire in England on Monday. Participants threw themselves down the famous Cooper's Hill rolling down the pasture. Crowds cheered as people celebrated the centuries old tradition. 30-year-old Chris Anderson who has won 21 Double Gloucester cheeses over the past 14 years won this time too. By this year's win, he broke the record held by Stephen Gyde. Anderson jumped, ran, tripped and tumbled down the hill in Brockworth village.
In the past years he has broken an ankle and bruised kidneys during the game. The Guardian quoted Anderson as saying, "The kid next to me was pulling my shirt all the way down. I've got nothing to prove now, I'm happy. There was a bit more pressure this year as there were a few more locals running and as we saw one of them was a bit dirty."
Some competitors travelled from across the world to participate in the game. Citing health and safety concerns, the competition was cancelled in 2010. After that some rebel cheese rollers came up with their own version of the game.

Anderson, a soldier with 1st Batallion, The Rifles, dedicated his win to wife's nephew Arthur Bace, who has a rare life-limiting condition. Anderson is planning to auction Double Gloucester cheese for Joseph’s Goal, a charity set up to fund research into nonketotic hyperglycinemia. The cheese is chased down the hill for 200 metres
