Elections in Pakistan are around the corner, and the manner in which the electoral campaigns are taking place is hilarious. The poll campaigns have been so innovative (and quirky to say the least); it has gone to such an extent that images of Bollywood superstars Madhuri Dixit and Amitabh Bachchan are used in the posters, asking for votes from the electorate.

Pakistan is well-known for their love of Indian cinema. However, it wasn’t thought of that the love would see such crazy heights. Reportedly, a candidate of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party came up with an innovative idea for his election campaign. People on social media had a field day as the images of the posters surfaced online.

It is often seen that politicians make visits to the houses of the prominent people, say celebs sportspersons, and other social figures during the time of elections. However, using images of cinema stars, of a different country, and asking for votes surely seems to be a first-of-its-kind campaign.

This year, candidates in Pakistan have adopted different antics to draw the attention of the voters ahead of the elections. From a candidate in Karachi who had his meal sitting on a pile of garbage, to another candidate who brought a real lion on the streets in Lahore; Pakistan is seeing one-of-its-kind election campaigns this time.

Pakistan will go polling on July 25. Pollsters will be polling for 272 parliamentary seats and 830 provincial assembly seats in contention. A total of 11,855 candidates are in the fray as the country is set to go voting on Wednesday. Stay tuned with LatestLY for the latest news and updates on Pakistan National Elections 2018!
