The build-up for the India vs Pakistan clash at ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 has turned murkier, with Pakistani broadcaster Jazz TV countering the tongue-in-cheek 'Mauka Mauka' advertisement by India with a distasteful, racist and xenophobic ad mimicking Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.
The ad, aimed at boosting hype for the much-awaited IND vs PAK encounter on June 16, shows a lookalike of Abhinandan wearing a blue jersey and spotting the same kind of moustache. Star Sports Promo Mixes 'Mauka Mauka' With Father's Day Theme, Watch 'Baap Re Baap' Video
The videography of the ad is similar to the clip shot by Pakistan Army during the questioning of Abhinandan, after he was captured in the aerial dogfight on February 27.
The ad ridicules Abhinandan's accent and takes a racist jibe at him by deliberately darkening the skin tone of the actor used as his prop.
Further, Abhinandan's insistence to avoid answering the questions posed to him by the Pakistani interrogators is also jeered.
The mockery of Abhinandan brings the creative discourse to a further low, as the IAF officer was a "prisoner of war" -- who should be treated with honour and dignity as per the Geneva Conventions (1929).

While Jazz TV has attempted to pose a creative counter, it has ended up producing an which is made in poor taste and fails horribly to serve its purpose.
