The 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival began with chants of "Ganpati Bappa Morya" and drums beating as people across the country welcomed Bappa home today, September 7. Amid the Ganpati celebrations, a unique competition was held in Gujarat to eat laddus, which are offered as prasad to Lord Ganesha. The open Saurashtra Laddu competition in Gujarat's Jamnagar has been organised annually for the last 15 years. A video of the Laddu eating competition has also surfaced online.
