Onion prices are skyrocketing. Now there may be an economical explanation to that or must be some reason #SayItLikeNirmalaTai is trending BUT we cannot stop laughing at the memes doing rounds on social media! Most of us from the middle-class strata and can totally relate to the onion price hike memes. People are legit shedding tears without even cutting onions. The price itself is enough for people to burst into tears. But since this is India and some outrage, some us love the use of satirical humour to raise their voices against the price hike. Some of the funniest onion price rise memes are going viral on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

From the classic Amitabh Bachchan meme where they recreate the scene from Deewar to onions to be found in the jeweller's shop, so many jokes are going viral. Imagine Amitabh Bachchan going: Mere paas gadi hai, bangla hai, tumhare paas kya hai? and Shashi Kapoor, instead of saying, mere paas maa hai, they say pyaz. This is just one of the few hilarious memes. Check out the rest:

On a different and less funny note, #SayItLikeNirmalaTai is trending after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the rising rates of onions haven't affected her personally because it is not part of her family's diet. According to an ANI tweet, the FM said "I don't eat a lot of onion and garlic and I come from a family that doesn't care much for onions,"
