Julia Flores Colquea, a Bolivian is believed to be the oldest living person at the age of 118. According to her national identity card, which has been credited by the Bolivian government, Colque was born on October 26, 1900, in a mining camp in the Bolivian mountains. However, she has not received her place in the Guinness World Record as the reference book says that they have not received any application for her. And Colque has neither heard of the book nor is interested is her name appears in it or not.
Colquea still sings in her indigenous Quechua tongue and hasn't forgotten to play her tiny Andean guitar known as the charango. These days she spends a lot of time with her cats, dogs and a rooster. She loves cake and singing folk songs in Quechua. Colque lives with her 65-year-old grandniece and has never married and has no children. While she loves indulging in cake and soda, she maintains a healthy lifestyle. The centenarian herded sheep, sold fruits and vegetables during her growing up years.

Nabi Tajima who was previously the world's oldest person died at the age of 117 last year. In Bolivia, birth certificates did not exist until 1940. Prior to that births were registered with baptism certificates given by the Roman Catholic priests. According to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, the U.N.'s regional arm, her ripe age is quite striking in Bolivia which still has one of South America's highest levels of mortality.
According to a report in AP, the Sacaba mayor’s office has named Flores Colque a living heritage. The office and a private foundation together have renovated her house by building a brick path where she walks. They have also added a shower and toilet with a railing Cloque can safely go to the bathroom at night.
