Italian high fashion sneaker brand Golden Goose is facing accusations of glorifying poverty with their expensive ‘Superstar Tape Sneaker’. The sneakers are being sold online on American retail chain Nordstrom’s website for whopping 530 US dollars which is approximately Rs. 41,000. On Nordstorm’s website, the sneakers are described as: ‘Crumply, hold-it-all-together tape details a distressed leather sneaker in retro low profile with a signature sidewall star and a grungy rubber cupsole’. Twitter users cannot keep calm, and some have called it ‘hideous’ and accused the website for ‘mocking poverty’.
