No-Confidence Politics Takes Over Twitter: Congress, BJP Battle It Out With #KyaHuaTeraVaada vs #BhukampAaneWalahai Debate

No-confidence motion against the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government began in the Lok Sabha on July 20, i.e. Friday. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan started the debate amidst massive furore in the Lower House. However, on a different parallel, the social media had a field day. People on social media shared their views and opinions online, as #KyaHuaTeraVaada and #BhukampAaneWalaHai were the top trends, earlier in the day.

The two top trends were directed to two different fronts; one mocking the ruling government (NDA), while the latter was towards the Rahul Gandhi-led Opposition. We take a look at both the trends that were amongst the top trends in India, on Friday.

#KyaHuaTeraVaada

The tweets in the trend #KyaHuaTeraVaada were directed mostly towards the Narendra Modi-led government over the issue of it non-fulfilment of its pre-poll promises. Some of the tweets in the trend are listed below.

The tweets in the trend #BhukampAaneWalaHai were about mocking Rahul Gandhi. The Congress President had, earlier, said that if I speak in the Parliament, a bhukamp (earthquake) will come. Some of the tweets in the trend are listed below.

The no-confidence motion against the NDA government in the Centre was moved by its former ally, Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which was accepted by the Speaker of Lok Sabha – Sumitra Mahajan. Both Rahul Gandhi and PM Narendra Modi are in-line to speak in the Lower House, later today, in the debate of no-confidence motion.
