Remember the emo phase? When people around you would rock skinny jeans, tight T-shirts, piercings, dark kohl, studded belts, jet-black hair and bangs almost covering one of the eyes! Every year December 19 is celebrated as Emo day for people who love the emo culture.  While many people consider emo just restricted till fashion choices and a mysterious attitude, but it has a history that traces back to the 1980s and continues till today. And what better day than National Emo Day to understand and recognize the rich complexities of the emo movement that has been receiving appreciation of its place in popular music. The day is celebrated across the globe, by both emos and non-emos.

Often on this day the non-emos to pretend to be emo, for a day. However, as per the history, the National Emo Day was created in 1927,  by a group of Christians who wanted to reach out to more people. They had 10,000 people sign a document stating they would create a holiday to celebrate the life of emos. However, in today's world, nothing can be conveyed in a better way than funny memes and jokes. There are many emo jokes and memes that will make you ROLF as well bring you closer to the community as a whole that is said to be quite mysterious and introvert.
