Massive international measures are being taken to curb the use of plastic with a hunt for an efficient, eco-friendly substitute. Around 5.25 trillion macro and microplastic pieces are said to be floating in the open ocean that comes to over 269,000 tonnes. Unfortunately, 60 to 90% of all marine debris studied consist of plastics. About PM Modi's summit with Chinese President, it is said to last for nearly 24 hours. It is said that this is his second informal bilateral meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mahabalipuram is chosen for the summit as the historical city had ancient links with China during the Pallava dynasty.
