Mumbai, February 15: In what is believed to be an act of shame, a complaint has been filed against voyeurs- who filmed a video of a young couple enjoying their personal time Powai lake. The Powai Police on Tuesday received a written complaint about a voyeuristic video where a couple was seen indulging in few intimate moments.

According to a report by Mid-Day, the complaint was submitted by Virendra Dhiwar, an activist from the organisation Youth Power. Reports informed that the video was uploaded to a popular pornographic website and has been circulating on social media.

With the recent beautification of the lake by BMC, the place has become a popular destination for couples. The BMC has also build jogging tracks for senior citizens and play areas for kids. As per reports, the residents complained saying the seating arrangements provided for visitors have been taken over by couples. Few other residents said that couples usually engage in a very public display of affection (PDA) which embarrasses people who pass by.

The Youth Power organisation has demanded that authorities install CCTV cameras on the spot, and post police personnel or security guards to keep watch. Virendra Dhiwar- the activist was quoted by Mid-Day saying that this isn't the first time that voyeurs have filmed and circulated such an intimate video online. Dhiwar said that there are several videos of couples on YouTube and other websites that have been uploaded in the recent past. The activist has written to the Powai Police to request couples from visiting the Powai police so that they are not victimised in this manner.
