Mumbai, September 4: With rains continuing to wreak havoc in Mumbai, the city's civic body - Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) - left netizens confused after asking Twitter users to not to pay heed to "rumours" of heavy rain alert. "Please don’t believe in any rumours regarding the high rainfall alert. Please confirm all your doubts on 1916 or our twitter handle. Request you to follow official accounts of departments for factual information," the civic body said in a tweet which left social media users confused.

Meanwhile, the lifeline of Mumbai - local trains - were disrupted at several nodes due to the incessent rainfall. Among routes which were stopped include the arterial CST-Thane and Vashi-Wadala.Due to waterlogging, traffic snarls have also been reported in some parts of Mumbai and the adjoining suburban region.
