Mukesh Ambani's son Akash Ambani turned 27 years old earlier this month, and we are sure it called for a grand celebration. Friends and relatives poured in plenty to wish the young man on his birthday. A few pictures from the birthday party also landed on Twitter where the Ambani family can be seen having a good time with their people.
However, a few images that went viral on the micro-blogging site claiming to be from the party has raised eyebrows. Some pictures show decorations made from notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 claiming to have used in the birthday celebrations. The tweets suggested that the cash crunch experienced in the country earlier this month was a result of the extravaganza in the Ambani household.
However, a good look at the decorations explains that they are fake notes and are not from the same party. Also, the notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 used in hangings have 'Bharatiya Manoranjan Bank' written on them while some also have 'Churan label' written on them.
Here are the tweets which blame the Ambanis of currency shortage in the market:

The decorations are made from fake notes:

There are also notes of Rs 20, Rs 50 and Rs 5 in some arrangements which again do not seem to be from the party. Check out this one:

During the cash crunch, sources in the government had blamed hoarding of money ahead of elections for the trouble. Reports also suggested that ATM cassettes had not been configured to dispense smaller sized Rs 200 notes. Following which government officials said that the presses had increased the minting Rs 500 and Rs 200 notes to meet an estimated Rs 70,000 crore of currency shortfall in the country.
In February, an Axis Bank ATM in Kanpur had dispensed fake notes with 'Churan label' and 'Children Bank of India' on them. The episode in Jr Ambani's wedding comes as a cropper and finds its place in the list of hoax messages that go viral in no time, on WhatsApp and other messaging apps.
