A man in Missouri has been arrested for torturing and killing cats he found on Craigslist. Police in St Charles County, in suburban St Louis, reported that multiple dead cats and kittens were found at various instances near Wild Deer Lane since the beginning of the year. Police said that on May 6, a witness saw a male dumping a dead cat on the road from a bag of water. An investigation that followed located a dead cat and three other mutilated kittens. Multiple dead cats were discovered on or near Kaine's street outside St Peters since January. According to an affidavit obtained by the St Louis Post-Dispatch, authorities contacted Kaine after a man that matched his description was spotted dumping a dead cat near his home. St Charles County police Sgt Jeff Ochs said that during interrogation he admitted to killing cats or kitten. He would then take them home, strangle them in a bathtub or on the patio and dismember them by removing their heads and limbs. He would meet people who sold cats and kittens on Craiglist who were selling or giving away kittens, brought them home and killed them. Neighbour Brian Conn told KMOV, "Someone that's capable of killing an animal like that — it makes you wonder what more they're capable of. It is worrisome that somebody can freely come and go, even with all the surveillance cameras people have at their houses and outdoors, that he wasn't picked up earlier."

When he was initially questioned about the scratches on his body, he claimed that the marks were caused by elderly patients at a hospital he worked for. St Charles County Police said that he later admitted the scratches were caused by cats when they tried to flee as he strangled them. The recent scratches were from the last animal he killed on Saturday. The 20-year-old is believed to have killed at least a dozen cats this year. Louzader is being held on a USD 50,000 bond.
