Dog going missing is a miserable feeling. But for Jake who went missing almost more than 3000 kilometres away from his home had many happy helpers to lead him back home. Jake went missing from Arizona a year back and his owners had assumed the worst possibility. But they were filled with joy to know their 7-year old Coonhound was very much alive but was somehow too far from his home.

Adam Herbaugh of Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania was walking his own dogs when he found Jake wondering in the streets. He brought him to good care and took him to the animal hospital. The authorities scanned him for a microchip, then they called the owners to ask if their pet was missing. The owners were shocked and delighted both, to know about Jake and wondered how he reached that far, across the country! It was not possible for the family to make the cross-country trip to get Jake home. Then an animal rescue group came to help. Missing Dog Reunited With the Pennsylvania Family: Microchip Helped in Finding The Pet After 10 Years.

The NGO called A Darrah Bull Bully Rescue, stepped in to find volunteers to take Jake back home in Phoenix. Surprisingly it got such a good response that 20 volunteers from across the nation volunteered to drive him back. The three-day long road trip passing 9 states was executed very well last week like a relay race. Each of the volunteers drove over 100 miles before passing him to the next volunteer who then continued for another 100. Three of the volunteers kept Jake during the night for the trip. He was finally reunited with the beloved pup, and could not contain the excitement of meeting them.

Throughout the trip also Jake was very excited and got along well with all the volunteers. His volunteers too were very happy to have the furry baby's company. The joy of seeing Jake reunited with his family is also a reason to have a smile on the face.
