Professional motorcycle rider Romano Fenati has been banned for grabbing fellow biker Stefano Manzi's brake during a race. Fenati grabbed his opponent brake while riding at 225 kph at San Marino Moto 2 Grand Prix on Sunday. He won't be allowed to ride for two races of Misano Moto2 race. Fenati will now have to skip the Aragon round in the next two week and also won't be allowed to participate in the championship's first visit to Thailand next month.
The 22-year-old was earlier engaged in a battle with Manzi at the Misano circuit when both riders lost. So this time Fenati was trying to take revenge on the exit of turn seven and reached for Manzi's brake. His anger did not help him and was immediately given a black flag, thus being disqualified from the race. Several riders condemned Fenati's action terming as irresponsible and dangerous.
ABC News quoted former MotoGP rider Colin Edwards said Fenati, "put somebody's life in danger" during commentary for BT Sport. He added saying, "This is unbelievable. Are you kidding me?" MotoGP race winner Andrea Dovizioso said, "I think for sure what he did is very bad, but the black flag is normal." British rider Cal Crutchlow, who finished third said Fenati should be given a lifetime ban during a press conference.

Fenati holds 19th position in this year's championship. He stepped up to the secondary category after finishing runner-up in Moto3 last season. Runner-up Marc Marquez suggested that a suspension was in order. He said, "They need to put some penalty that the other guys will never do … that if you do this, you will not race." Most people associated with the racing fraternity suggested that his racing licence should be revoked and be banned for life.
