A supermarket has come under the fire for selling denim miniskirts for babies. The skirts that start from 'newborn' age are being sold under the clothing range at Morrisons. But a mother from Denton in Manchester raised an objection regarding an item under the Nutmeg section. She took to social media sharing pictures of the skirts at the Denton branch. Michelle Potts posted the images with the caption, "Can't believe I saw these in Morrisons... Who on earth would put a newborn baby in a denim mini skirt." She told Manchester Evening News that a baby would feel uncomfortable wearing a mini skirt. She also added that making newborn wear it would be inappropriate. Michelle said, "I feel a newborn baby should wear comfortable clothing and things less restricting especially on little tummies. A baby isn't a doll to dress up like a teenager. I just can't understand the newborn size." Her post was quick to go viral on social media with more moms agreeing to her stand. Many said how they would their baby to be a baby and not look like a teenager.

One of the comments read, "I love Morrisons clothes in general and have some beautiful clothes, I'm guessing it's not just Morrisons that are selling them, each to their own but personally I Just prefer my baby to look a baby." Another comment reads, "I'm disgusted with them. I wouldn't put any child in them, they are far too short, even with tights they are too short and I think they are too uncomfortable for a baby."
A Morrisons spokeswoman was quoted as saying, "Our skirts can be paired with a number of other items we sell including tights and leggings." Meanwhile, some commented on how Morrison's Nutmeg collection has many other items of clothing that would look great on kids.
