A beekeeper who was transporting a swarm of bees had a tense trip when 3,000 bees escaped from their container. And what is interesting is the driver did not get stung even once in the process. Beekeeper Wallace Leatherwood, who works as a builder, had bought about 18,000 bees from Wild Mountain Bees. He was transporting them home to Waynesville, North Carolina. He had left them in his vehicle. When he stopped at a restaurant, he moved three boxes into the cab of his truck. And when he came back to it, he found that one of the boxes had open and the bees were all out.
Now Mr. Leatherwood could not even afford to lose the bees. "I didn't want to lose my bees. They were $US165 [per box]," he said. The idea of having to drive miles when there are these buzzing creatures around would have freaked someone out to a good measure, but not Leatherwood. He was undeterred and continued to drive. He even captured the scene in a video.
Take a look at Mr. Leatherwood's video while his truck had all the bees lose:
"Houston, we have a problem!" A beekeeper takes a dangerous drive home when some 3,000 bees broke free from their containers in his truck, swarming all over the cab.
He was reportedly not stung the whole ride home. https://t.co/cOYbfatXYW pic.twitter.com/DNHOBAdNGQ

Mr. Leatherwood is a bee enthusiast and needed no bee suit, although what he did was quite dangerous. In his video too, he looked all calm. He is heard saying, "The girls are out, we've got a problem. Houston, we have a problem!" He then stopped at his son's place and Brandon Singleton, who works with Leatherwood's son, shot video of the bees in the truck.
When the video was posted on Twitter, people were definitely amused and had some jokes as well! Some scared at the thought of it and some just lauding the man for his calmness in the situation.
The most common thing to do, if it'd be me and you!

He is proving to be an inspiration
That's a level of calm I didn't even know existed. Man, I really got to get my life together.

There were many others who were just scared at the thought of driving down with a swarm of bees in the back.
As much as I respect bees, this would be me the entire time... pic.twitter.com/jEMfFISVwB

I would probably crash the car with one bee.

Oh no, I would have went into a full-blown panic attack. That is like a nightmare.

Well, what this man did is sure impressive. We tend to lose our concentrations when we spot even one bee or an insect. Wallace Leatherwood, is almost a star for all of us now.
