A 20-year-old man probably ran out of excuses and came up with the weirdest response when he was caught sleeping with two women. The man blamed the presence of a large lizard in his room, which forced him to go and sleep with two of his female friends in the next room. The incident took place a picturesque beach resort in Perhentian Island of Malaysia. The Terengganu Religious Affairs Department (JHEAT) conducted a raid in the resort when they caught a man sharing a bed with two females. The raid was conducted on September 6 and the trio was busted at 3:30 am on Friday morning after authorities went to investigate the circumstances of their vacation. When the officers questioned the man, he said that he was "scared of a large cicak (lizard) in his room". To add more to the drama, one of the women that he was sharing the bed with, was already married. The three people vacationing together had booked two chalet rooms right next to each other. Both the rooms were booked in the man's name.
As per some news reports, the Assistant Commissioner of Enforcement Nik Zuhaiza Ismail, after first giving a nonsensical reason, he changed his stance on further questioning. The officer said, "After being brought in for questioning, his reason for sleeping with his girlfriend under the sheets was that he had fallen asleep after going to her room to pick something up." All the three suspects were arrested under Section 31 of the Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment Act 2001. During the same raid, officers also found another couple in a room, wherein the man was aged 40 and his girlfriend was half his age. In some conservative regions of Malaysia, the Sharia law is followed. And this law bans unmarried men and women from sharing any "secluded place, house or room under circumstances that may give rise to the suspicion that they are engaged in an immoral act."
