Bhopal, Feb 9: Students in the state-run Mohangarh Senior Secondary School were forced to write their exams on rooftop, as the classrooms were occupied by the participants of a volleyball tournament underway at the school premises. Reports also said that a dance and music festival was organised, while the class 9th and 11th students were sitting for the exam.
The examinations of the students were scheduled between February 2-26. Despite the students marking their apprehension against the Sunil Nayak Memorial Volleyball tournament beginning from February 6, the authorities allegedly turned a blind eye to their plight.
District education officer B L Lahuria, however, claimed he was unaware of the ongoing volleyball tournament at the school campus. While speaking to India Today, the officer said a probe will be conducted into the incident. "We will now look into how the permission was given for the tournament at a time when Class 9 and Class 11 exams were being held," he added.
