According to recent reports, it has been claimed that Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso was allegedly removed from the Paris Olympic Village for creating an inappropriate atmosphere within her team. However, she refutes these claims. Born on March 19, 2004, Luana is a competitive swimmer who specialises in butterfly stroke events. She even holds the national record for Paraguay in the 100 metre butterfly. Luana first came into the spotlight when she represented her country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, when she was only 17 years old. In fact, at the Paris 2024 Olympics, she narrowly missed qualifying for the women's 100 metre butterfly semifinal by only 0.24 seconds. Prior to the Paris 2024 Olympics, she also competed in the World Championships, South American Games, and Youth Olympic Games. While she has impressive skills, it was not her swimming that gained attention; it was her alleged behaviour at the Paris 2024 Olympics that drew more attention. Even though there were several reports of her being asked to leave the Olympic village, she denies the allegations. Paraguayan Swimmer Luana Alonso Expelled From Paris Olympics 2024 Games Village For Allegedly Creating 'Inappropriate Environment' For Teammates, Athlete Announces Retirement Amid Controversy.

The exact details of the inappropriate behaviour that allegedly led to Luana Alonso being asked to leave the Olympic Village are unclear. However, it has been claimed that she was seen socialising with other athletes and wearing skimpy clothing, which was supposedly a distraction for her Paraguayan teammates. In addition, before the summer games, in a live stream on social media, she had allegedly mentioned she preferred the US over Paraguay. There are also claims that Alonso spent time at Disneyland instead of supporting her Paraguayan teammates while she was still staying at the Olympic Village. In spite of all these claims, Luana denies all the allegations. In a post on social media, she mentions that she was never kicked out or expelled from the Olympic village. She even requested that people stop spreading false information and added that she does not want to make any statements but will not let the lies affect her either. Paris Olympics 2024: American Hockey Player Tom Craig Issues Apology After Being Involved in Cocaine Controversy.
