The deadly campfire in the Northern California last month has shaken the headlines with 85 confirmed deaths and more than 18,000 structures destroyed. As the wildfires spread, many were forced to evacuate to other towns and cities, ballooning the initial number of missing persons. Search, and the rescue teams have been searching through towns to find remains of those missing. Residents had to leave many treasured items behind as they move to a safer place. And unfortunately, some pets could not scurry for safety. One of them was the faithful dog, Madison who was found alive and well, protecting “what was left of his home.” Heartless Boss Asks Employee to Come to Work While His House Was Being Evacuated.

Madison’s owner Andrea Gaylord was not able to get back home after the Campfire. The area was fully contained on November 25, the sheriff’s office has been maintaining a list of missing people and contacting the immediate relatives to help identify those lost in the fire. K9 Paw Print Rescue, a Bay Area-based animal rescue non-profit reported the emotional meeting. On their Facebook account, the group posted, “They hoped and prayed he would be OK. When they finally got clearance to go back to the lot where their house once stood… Madison was waiting there for them as if he were protecting his former home. Never give up!”

A volunteer with the group, Shalya Sullivan explained in the comments that the couple’s other dog, Miguel was found about 100 miles away from the spot in Citrus Heights. Sullivan would return to the Paradise property to put food and water in the hope that Madison somehow survived the horrific fire. After Miguel was reunited with his owners, the volunteer had come with some suggestions to locate Madison. After nearly a month, the family was joined. He had stayed to protect what was left of his home, hoping that his parents would return.
