America's gun violence is a serious problem. The incidences of shootings at school are very shocking but a mother of a kindergarten child was even more shocked when she learnt the school was teaching a lockdown drill to the students. The nursery rhyme was set to the tunes of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' and written in colourful text was put up on one of the boards. Georgy Cohen, mother of a 5-year old posted the picture on Twitter. Cohen visited to check the nursery where her daughter would be enrolled in days to come and was clearly not impressed. Cohen's picture of the nursery rhyme has been shred more than 30,000 times and has close to 70,000 likes. The lyrics of the entire rhyme go... "Lockdown, lockdown, lock the door, Shut the lights off, say no more … Go behind the desk and hide … Wait until it’s safe inside … Lockdown, lockdown it’s all done … Now it’s time to have some fun!” She did not give the name of the school but expressed it was such a frightening situation that the schools have to resort to this method of creating an alert.

The tweet got many responses who said it was outrageous. But it also becomes the need of the hour. Cohen was happy to know the kind of response it elicited from the parents all around. “To be shocked by it is important. To see that absurdity and horror and have that sick feeling in your stomach is important,” she said in a report. “Stay outraged. And if it gets somebody to do something, to give money to an organization or to call their representatives . . . then great, I think that that’s important.”
