The cat that starred in Pet Sematary has died just weeks after the movie released. Leo's animal trainer Kirk Jarrett who had adopted the animal, took to Instagram on Wednesday announcing the sad news. Leo, the cat gained fame after it appeared in the movie based on Stephen King's 1983 novel, Pet Sematary. He shared a post on Instagram saying, "It is with great sadness that we tell you that Leo has passed away." He further writes, "He will be forever missed by his human and fur family. The Coon was one of four felines to play Church in the horror movie that released earlier this month. However, Kirk did not explain the cause of the cat's death. In the movie, Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz star as a couple who move to a rural Maine with their two children and cat. After a few days, they find an animal graveyard in the woods behind their new home. Following which, their cat dies in an accident and they bury it in the mysterious pet cemetery. Things take a rough turn from there and are filled with scary twists and turns. Kirk had adopted the cat after he finishing the shooting of Pet Sematary. Leo's Instagram page began last October following which the cat rose in popularity.
