Traffic guidance on the road has always been a major concern for the Indian cities. Taking baby steps, with each passing day, the metropolitan and small cities are making the streets safe to ride, highlighting traffic rules. Introduced on a trial basis, the LED speed breaks at the signals have been installed by the Hyderabad Traffic Police Department. They automatically switch from green to red to yellow to coincide with the traffic signals. Motorists will now have to follow instructions as per the lights. With the recent installation, Hyderabad reportedly becomes the first city to experiment with such an initiative to direct the vehicles. The new idea has been put into practice only at Hyderabad KBR Park Junction. If it proves to be a success, M Narsing Rao, Inspector of Traffic Police, informed that it will be implemented across the city. The LED traffic lights are expected to reduce the number of accidents and lessen chaos, allowing drivers to slow down ahead of the junction. Traffic rule breakers from now on will have to be careful, as the cat-eye reflector road signs are lighted on the streets. They are waterproof and hence will not be affected by rainwater or floods.
