In the times of social media, it hardly takes any time to become popular. People become overnight sensations over the wink of an eye or a dance move. Among the recent people to have caught the internet's attention is Lahore SSP Dr Anoosh Masood Choudhary. Pictures of the police officer are being shared widely on social networking sites with praises for her looks. With no mention of her professional achievements, tweets and WhatsApp forwards only talk how great she looks.

That is not the only issue with the messages that are being circulated, but because of the cool culture of forwarding fake news on social media, her name is now transformed from Anoosh to Razia. Dr Masood is being addressed as Razia Sultan. Well, we don't know where that name originated from. Dr Anoosh Masood who was a medic before joining the police force has won gold in Medicine. Reportedly, her spouse is also an ASP-Under Training in Abbottabad.

Dr Masood is the first female ASP in the KPK province. She was the first posted in Lahore but later transferred to Abbottabad district to be closer to her family. Forwarding every message without crosschecking if it is true or not has resulted in people believing in a lot of fake news. Often celebrities and politicians have also fallen to the trap.

Dr Masood is considered an inspiration to young girls. In a country where women account for only 0.89 percent of the police force, women like Dr Masood are truly a motivation and example of how hard work pays off. However, messages and social media post like these continue to flood the internet only appreciating a woman's appearance rather than about how she worked to reach the respectable position.

This is not the first time, a woman police officer is going viral on the internet just for her looks. In 2015, pictures of Merin Joseph, Kerala assistant commissioner of police similarly caught the fancy of the internet.
