It seems that each retailer is only trying to convince us to put more in the carts with mostly expired food. Interestingly, Kuwait appeared in the national headlines last month for selling imported shrimps through an auction which were found unfit for human consumption. Thankfully, the country’s Fishermen Union destroyed about 450 kilos of shrimp at the fish market in Souq Sharq, which is said to be a major shopping centre in the Kuwait City. Various videos surfaced on social media showing the shrimps being washed at the market. With such incidents, we really need to be very alert while purchasing any and every food item.
