Last week, a distress message by Chengannur MLA Saji Cheriyan highlighted the palpable fear of being ignored in the mammoth rescue effort. Hearing the plea, the rescue operations using helicopter are undergoing. Meanwhile, commoners as far as they can are reaching out to help the flood-affected.

We do not certify the authenticity of the above pictures, and it remains uncertain if the people of Chengannur are bowing to thank the fishermen. According to one of the commentators on Twitter, it is suggested that both the parties are engaged in a mutual prayer for the security of the state from the natural disaster. Notwithstanding, the fisherman deserves much respect for showing their generosity to help the people stranded across many districts of the state. Quoting media reports, the monstrous flood has so far caused 215 deaths; about 10.28 lakh residents are staying in 3,270 relief camps. Hundreds of people are still trapped in various locations.
