Kerala, August 16: A heartbreaking video has emerged from Kerala, highlighting the emergency condition which is in the state. There are numerous videos floating on social media throwing light on the horrific condition of the people stranded at several places due to the floods caused by the incessant rains. The rains have claimed till now more than 87 lives, as the roads have turned into 'rivers', and thousands of families are trapped inside their buildings, students are stranded in the hostel, and devotees inside the churches.
In a heart-wrenching video, the man from Chengannur is seen stranded inside house, neck deep in water, asking for help. He is wading through the neck-deep water and through the video message, he is requesting the Kerala state authorities to rescue him soon as there is no way left for him to get out of the house. He clearly mentions in the video that the water level has reached the staircase to the second floor, and no one has reached him out to extend their help.

Videos of people pleading for help with folded hands are being posted and shared by hundreds of people on WhatsApp groups since last night. Panic-struck relatives are also sharing the location of their near and dear ones trapped in various places using Google maps. Various regional channels have also published their numbers through news bulletins for stranded people to contact them and share details of their location, to be passed on to authorities.

As many as 82 tourists were stranded inside a bus on Thursday in Munnar in Kerala's Idukki district following heavy rains across the state. Rescue operations could not be carried out as all routes leading to the place where the tourists were stuck were either flooded or blocked due to mudslides. The famed tourist destination in Munnar though continued to be in a bad shape.
