Kensington palace confirmed that Kate Middleton and Prince William were expecting their third child in late 2017. Kate’s pregnancy was confirmed by Kensington Palace in September 2017 in a statement that said: “Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child.” The Duchess was forced to make an announcement early after suffering from severe morning sickness, otherwise known as hyperemesis gravidarum, as she did during her first two pregnancies.
Kate’s Due Date to Deliver Her Third Child
But when is she due? With the announcement being released when Kate was six to eight weeks pregnant, it is predicted that she will have her third baby in late April or early May. This was confirmed in a tweet from Kensington Palace in October 2017.

Kate wrapped up her royal engagement duties last month, with her last official duty on March 22, marking the start of her maternity leave. With Kate working so late into March, experts suggest this means her due date is likely to be at the end of April. Bookie odds suggest the baby could be born on St. George’s Day, which is April 23.
The royal baby is expected to arrive around the time of Princess Charlotte’s birthday on May 2 and Kate and William’s wedding anniversary on April 29. The royal baby is now expected any day and hence, with temporary parking restriction in place at Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington where she is due to give birth. The parking restrictions began on April 9 and will expire on April 30.
Speculations About the Gender & Name
Several speculations about the moniker has been rife ever since the announcement – and the public can’t resist guessing if Kate and William’s third child will be a boy or a girl. Despite the gender not being revealed yet, bookies are saying the couple are most likely to be having a girl. But what names have been piped for the royal baby? Bookies have picked very traditional names for their line-ups this year. The moniker suppositions are Alice, Mary, Victoria and Alexandra if it’s a girl and Arthur, Albert and Henry if it’s a boy. Bookies have placed their bets on these most traditional names.
Here’s What Will be in Kate’s Hospital Bag
According to a report from OK! magazine, Kate has already packed her hospital bag with a handful of luxuries and good luck charms to make her feel more at home during her stay on the state of the art maternity ward. According to sources, Kate will carry trinkets with sentimental value, including a 19th century alabaster cameo pendant that was given to her by the Queen and some black onyx beads belonging to her mother. Prince George and Princess Charlotte have also lent their mum their favourite toys to keep her company. The Duchess has also loaded her Kindle with the latest Booker prize winners. Prince William has reportedly given his wife one of her favourite aromatherapy kits.
The royal baby watch is in full swing, with the world’s eyes glued to the hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge will give birth to her third child. Kate previously gave birth to her two children in the same Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also getting married on May 19, but the baby is most likely to arrive before the wedding.
