What comes to your mind when you hear of roller coaster rides? Turns, slopes, thrill and everything that mounds for an adrenaline rush. But it seems roller coaster rides are not the same everywhere. People at the Arakawa Amusement Park in Tokyo were having fun on the slowest roller coaster ride when it derailed. However, not a single person on the ride realised that it had stopped. When asked they said that the ride was so slow that they did not know when it had stopped completely. So, everyone quietly sat in it unless a worker started banging on the car with a hammer.

Not knowing the problem, confused riders asked the worker only when they realised what had happened. Seven adults and 12 children were trapped on the ride for five minutes 16 metres above ground. According to the park's website, the 140 meters ride is "the slowest roller coaster in Japan". "The coaster was moving so slowly, I didn't notice it had stopped," a rider told the Asahi Shimbun.

Meanwhile, some passengers dialed 110, their police emergency number. Police rushed to the scene immediately and conducted the rescue operations. Although passengers got a little scared when the rescue began, all of them were brought to safety in a few minutes.

While Ogaki police are investigating the incident, reportedly the incident happened when the wheel on the first car of carriage derailed. Family Coaster in Japan's Tokyo is known for being the slowest rider. Arakawa Amusement Park opened in 1950 and is the only ward-operated amusement park in Tokyo.
