Jaguar Attacks Woman at Arizona Zoo As She Tries to Take Selfies With the Wild Animal, Video Goes Viral

Another incident of selfie almost costing a woman her life is doing rounds on the internet and this time it was a jaguar attack that a woman survived. At a zoo in Arizona, a jaguar attacked a woman leaving her with serious injuries. The scratches required medical attention and a video of the woman's wounds are doing rounds on the internet. The attack happened Saturday evening at the Wildlife World Zoo in Litchfield Park, Shawn Gilleland of the Rural Metro Fire Department told CNN. However, it wasn't the wild animal crossing boundaries but the guest. The woman crossed over the barrier to get a photo after which a female jaguar attacked her. Wildlife World Zoo in Litchfield Park tweeted: "The visitor sustained non-life threatening injuries to their arm from one of our female jaguars. At the request of the family, paramedics were called. At no time was the animal out of its enclosure ... please understand why barriers are put in place. Sending prayers to the family tonight."

The woman in her 30s was injured and was rushed to the hospital. The woman is said to be trying to take a selfie near the fence of the jaguar enclosure when the animal reached out and attacked her arm, according to CNN.

The zoo said in one of its statements on Twitter: "We regret to inform that this evening, before closing, there was an incident reported involving a guest who crossed over the barrier to get a photo, according to eyewitnesses. The visitor sustained non-life threatening injuries to their arm from one of our female jaguars. At the request of the family, paramedics were called. At no time was the animal out of its enclosure. The incident is being fully investigated."
