Streets of Sydney have decorated itself in shades of blue with the blossoming of jacaranda trees. The city transforms itself every year around the spring-summer season becoming every photographer's favourite destination. This year the flowers have bloomed a little early owing to warm weather.

While the flowering tree is linked to the identity of Pretoria-based South Africans, the South American native plant's presence in Australia is credited to William Nelson, a nursery owner living in the country in the 19th century. He is said to have imported them and planted it along the streets. Neelakurinji Returns to Munnar! Flowers That Bloom Every 12 Years Are Back As Sun Shines After Floods in Kerala (See Pictures)

Some of the popular places were Jacaranda puts on a purple show is Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, Circular Quay and The Rocks. The trees look stunning against the backdrop of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour and streets of The Rocks. Other places that people flock to see the flowers include Inner Sydney areas like Glebe, Camperdown and Erskineville. Jacaranda also draws crowds in Lavender Bay, Greenwich, Waverton, Longueville and Wollstonecraft.

While the world arrives in Australia around the time to witness the beauty, natives living along the streets were the flowers bloom have not been in praises of the crowds that arrived. In 2017, as crowds flocked the area, certain streets were closed as neighbours complained. Also, do not try to grow a jacaranda in your backyard, it could land you in trouble. It is illegal to plant new jacaranda trees and it is also harmful to grow it in a certain environment.
