These catfish are said to have come from the lake in the nearby region. Some of the fish were up to three feet long! The officials rushed in to rescue the unusual visitors here. One of the busiest airports, this airport in Juhu is surrounded by a lake, a nullah and Arabian sea on the sides. So even with light rains, the areas here flooded.

Reports in TOI quoted a senior official of the Airports Authority of India, "There is a big lake on the northwest side of the runway, which is frequented by locals who fish there. In heavy rain, the airport gets inundated and when the water recedes, one finds fish and other aquatic life left behind." Officials from Juhu airport's fire services caught these fish and cleared the runway. The catfish were caught holding and kept in the plastic drum. Some fish tried slithering away in the green cover around. So if you happen to take a flight from here soon, don't be surprised by the visitors from the aquatic world.
