The Italian court has summoned parents of a 14-month-old baby named Benito Mussolini for the controversial name. Little Benito is named after one of his grandfathers, a common practice in Italy. With their family name being Mussolini, the child's name ended up being the fascist dictator's name. Although the family has no relation to the late Italy Prime Minister, they were summoned to court in the northern city of Genoa, AFP reported.
According to the daily Gazzetta di Parma, the court expressed concerns for the child's welfare in later years among other things. The issue can be related to the 2015 film Il nome del figlio (An Italian Name) in which a man wants to call his son Benito. The movie which was an Italian adaptation of a French film had kickstarted debates around the name. In Milan a local prosecutor had taken exception in a couple naming their child Blu (Blue).
Baby names have not created controversy just in Italy but in India too. One of paparazzi's favourite baby, Taimur Ali Khan had kickstarted debates for his name which was also on a Mughal leader who invaded India. Son of actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, one and half year old Taimur gets clicked with every single public appearance.
