The fifth edition of International Day of Yoga is observed across the globe on June 21, 2019. Initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations General Assembly 2014 officially declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga. Since then, Yoga Day is observed on a large scale with various training programmes, camps, seminars, and workshops. The first International Day of Yoga was observed all on June 21, 2015, around the world. More than 30,000 people including Modi performed yoga asanas at Rajpath in New Delhi. June 21 is observed as International Yoga Day all over the world, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the world.
People mixed yoga with things of their convenience creating a blend quite different from the one that originated in ancient India. Today, there are quite a few types of weird yoga in existence. While some of them appear interesting, others just appear bizarre.

1. Beer Yoga
Beer yoga is a fitness trend that began in 2014 in which participants drink beer while doing yoga. It is generally conducted in brewery or taprooms where people stretch with a beer bottle in their hands. It is not just a fad with fitness enthusiasts continuing the trend thus garnering international fame.
2. Boxing yoga
In boxing yoga, people change yoga postures to relate to boxing. This form of yoga is based on the movements found in boxing. A version of Ashtanga Vinyasa, it strengthens and stretches the entire body. It is claimed to reduce recovery time injury pain causing during sports.
3. Tantrum Yoga
Tantrum yoga lets you tap your inner child out in a healthy way. In tantrum yoga classes, people can relive their frustration by screaming, yelling, stomping or even laughing their hearts out. It is believed that letting out stress keeps people healthy.
4. Goat Yoga
Goat yoga is seen as a stress buster is quite popular in the United States. Most classes take place outdoors due to droppings. It is believed to be a therapeutic measure for a mindful experience. The goat also adds to entertainment among yoga doers thus inspiring them to participate regularly.
5. Paddleboard/Surfboard Yoga
In paddleboard or surfboard yoga, people perform different yoga asanas while keeping their core muscles steady. People do this yoga when they have to gain the strength required to balance on water. People stand or sit while performing doing paddleboard yoga.
6. Harmonica Yoga
Harmonica yoga is believed to be yet another stress buster. During the class, participants are given a little harmonica to play. While everyone in the class may not be provided with one, it surely makes others laugh with immatures playing it.
7. Anti-gravity Yoga
Anti-gravity yoga is gaining momentum across the globe after originating in New York. It is a combination of the traditional yoga poses, pilates and dances using a hammock. It involves bending and stretching of the whole body strengthening the muscles and joints.
Other equally popular yoga trends include nude yoga, horse yoga, karaoke yoga and cannabis yoga. In nude yoga, people strip before performing yoga stating one's inner peace. It also claims to make one comfortable with one's body. Just like goat yoga, horse and dog yoga is also known among practitioners.
