Social media users find ways to entertain themselves and the medium has become a great way of interaction across borders. One such thing unifying the users globally are the various social media challenges that come up every once in a while. It does not take long for a challenge that started somewhere reach among different people in different areas. While some challenges do have their purpose, others seem utterly useless in the name of entertainment. The recent social media challenge is based on singer Drake's song 'In My Feelings.' The song is already a popular track, but now an Instagram user called theshiggyshow made it into a challenge. Now to carry it on, some people are literally getting out of running cars to dance on the song and complete it.
Shiggy, a widely followed personality online started this challenge. He posted a video of himself dancing to Drake's song on the road and his steps synched with the lyrics of the song. The video spread like wildfire and soon enough, popular personalities like Ciara, Will Smith too joined in, only making the challenge spread.

Now a lot of videos are coming online. But some people are getting out on road and dancing. Some stepped out of moving cars and danced along as the car slowly paced forward. To show they are extra and gain more appreciation, people do not mind risking their lives.

This has been done for humour but it may not be in your case
While some of them may have been swift with it, not all were that lucky. The funny videos in the name of social media challenge are becoming a laughing stock on all platforms. The question remains, what good does it do, to take such risks to use the popular trending hashtag? Yes the car may be slow moving and maybe you have been swift at it, but when you pass on such videos on a larger platform, there are going to be more youngsters who would want to try them out? The #InMyFeeling challenge does not even address an issue or create certain awareness. It is a thing to think about if the social media attention and a few more likes are worth risking lives?
