Have you ever travelled in an Express train for a ticket as cheap as Rs 10? Steam Express in Haryana rides passengers from Garhi Harsaru to Farukhnagar which takes a little more than half an hour. And if you were wondering if the cheap rate is some offer, then you'd be surprised to know that it is that actual fair throughout the year.
It uses WP7200 AZAD broad-gauge locomotives from 1947, made in the US. The train (no. 04445) departs from Garhi Harsaruat 9.30am and reaches Farukhnagar at 10.15am. The return journey (train no. 04446) starts at 11.15am. The train uses a steam engine. The service began at the end of September this year and runs all throughout the year.
Indian Railways' subsidiary IRCTC tweeted about it saying, "Witness a journey like never before on the Steam Express from Garhi Harsaru to Farukhnagar at a minimal price of Rs. 10 only! Bookings are open for this unique journey."

The train is expected to bring train lovers from around the country to witness and experience the ride on steam express. The steam engine was restored and the work was carried out at Heritage Steam Shed, Rewari and DEMU-Shed, Shakurbasti. The Indian Railways also renovated the heritage steam engine WP 7200 also called Azad. It brought India's oldest iconic luxury tourist train, the Palace on Wheels from Delhi Safdarjung station to Patel Nagar station. On November 21, Railway board chairman, Ashwani Lohani flagged off the train.
