Everyone loves the trained pooches who follow all commands but there is a extra love and respect for the service dogs. Dogs in service with the armed forces are extremely special to the officers. Recently, a canine warrior named Dutch working with the Eastern Command of Indian Army passed away. The nine-year-old Labrador was working with the Explosive Detection department and was among the most decorated dogs in the Indian Army. Dutch passed away due to natural reasons on September 11. He served in the army for nine years and would've retired this month. Talking about him, one of the officials at 19 Army dog unit told CNBC, "He passed away in his sleep - like a saint, a real soldier." The entire unit came together for his funeral and pictures of Dutch decorated with flowers, and some from his old service days were shared on Twitter.

Dutch was a brave heart who worked as an Explosive Detection (ED) dog and helped in saving several lives. In the year 2015 and 2016, Dutch was awarded GOC–in -C Eastern Command commendation for his bravery. Like the tribute mentioned, Dutch was a real hero in service to the nation.
