In Haryana, People Can Now Legally Set up Mini Bar at Home For Just Rs 20,000

The license will only be valid in Haryana for license holders.

People in Haryana need not take the trouble of going to the bar to drink, they can now set up one at home. According to the Haryana excise policy, people can now open a bar at home by obtaining a government license. One has to pay Rs 20,000 as the fee for the same. The license can be used for a lifetime and one does not require to renew it.

As per a report in The Times of India, the excise department has to informed before you arrange a gathering or part. The excise department will also create awareness about this plan among people.

According to the Excise' policy, after having done the necessary steps, one can keep 12 bottles of Indian foreign liquor amounting to 750 ml and 24 bottles of Indian made foreign liquor up to 750 ml. You can also have 12 bottles of rum (750 ml), 24 bottles of beer (650 ml), 24 bottles of wine (750 ml) and 12 bottles of vodka/gin/cyder (750 ml) in the bar.

The licence will only be valid in Haryana for license holders. Change in address has to be informed and application to make the changes in the existing license should be made. No charges will be incurred for the same.

According to the Indian law, there is a penalty for storing liquor beyond a particular limit at home. Possession of more than four bottles of liquor or over 12 bottles of beer without permission is punishable under article 61 and 61 A excise policy. The penalty fee ranges from Rs 50 to Rs 500.
