Death hoax of celebrities and other popular people have become a norm in the age of social media. An unauthorised video going viral on the internet shows former Pakistan Cricket Captain Imran Khan being carried by a few men after he was allegedly shot. The video which was circulated widely on social networking sites claimed that the politician was shot dead. It also showed Khan bleeding profusely giving all the more reasons for people to believe it is true. However, it was later proved that the video is from another time when Khan was injured and was taken away for treatment.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani cricket legend Imran Khan may become the country's new prime minister. The general election voting was held on July 25 and the results are soon awaited. According to recent trends, PTI's PM candidate is leading with a majority.

The former captain and now leader of Tehreek-e-Insaaf party is busy campaigning for his party for the upcoming 2018 General Elections. The timing of this hoax video raises doubts about a political conspiracy. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday released the code of conduct for local news and media organisations covering the Pakistan General Elections 2018.
