She rose to fame after topping the civil services exam in the country in 2015. Dabi continued to be in the news when she married Aamir Athar Amirul Shafi Khan, who had received the second rank in the same examination that year. Khan (second row, right from right in the above photo) and Dabi who were in the same academy married in April 2018.
Dabi and Khan had become victims of social media trolls after they married each other. Comments filled with communal spur were aimed at them for choosing to marry spouses who followed different religions. After a simple court marriage in Jaipur, two wedding receptions were held in Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. The Delhi reception was attended by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad among other dignitaries.
