Hungry Snake Eats Itself, Swallows Almost Half of Its Body (Watch Rescue Video)
A kingsnake was so hungry that it ate its own body mistaking it for another snake! While most snakes would realise the error, this snake did not until it had to be freed from its own clutches. A video of the snake rescue was shared on Facebook and people are indeed amused by the scene.
Snakes feasting on their preys, swallowing the whole body slowly is not something unseen or unheard of. But a kingsnake was so hungry that it ate its own body mistaking it for another snake! While most snakes would realise the error, this snake did not until it had to be freed from its own clutches. Kingsnakes are nonvenomous and kill their prey by constricting them. They also prey on other reptiles like rattlesnakes. Some snakes can bite their own tail, this particular snake did not let go but tried to eat its own body further. Talking about the snake, Rothacker mentioned that its called Kronos. He was brought in the sanctuary a few months ago and is 5 years old. He told Newsweek, "According to his history form, he had a habit of being an aggressive eater and had been observed many times biting himself over the years, even though he came from a great, caring home." When some people pointed out that probably the snake was stressed, the authorities mentioned that this wasn't the case and it has been well-kept by them. The snake had almost swallowed half of its body, it was so hungry! After it was finally rescued, it was given a frozen mouse and Kronos gobbled that down.
