Poultry farmers reportedly threw these eggs which were later sent to a waste disposal site and seven days later in the scorching heat, the eggs began to hatch.
In an incredible moment, a landfill turned into a chick hatchery, has witnessed hundreds of newborns. Running around with a chorus of chirps, these came out of eggs which were abandoned at a dump site near the small city of Marneuli, in Georgia. Poultry farmers reportedly threw these eggs which were later sent to a waste disposal site and seven days later in the scorching heat, the eggs began to hatch. Locals were stunned and soon they filmed the birds swarmed in the field and posted the video on social media.
A Facebook user named Sahid Bayramov on June 10, posted a video which shows the depot crowded with cute yellowish chicks chirping continuously as they look for their mother. A delightful sight it is, soon the video went viral and few social media users were concerned if the chickens were fine. The mayor of Marneuli told the media; “They [the poultry farm] believed the eggs were spoiled. They were thrown away at the dump. But there are rocks – and the sun heated the eggs. The conditions were the same as if hens had hatched them.”

Yes, it is the warm temperature at the site and its rocky landscape that allowed them to hatch. The situation is more similar to a hen sitting on the eggs. The Mayor further informed that few of the chicks have found new home with locals. “So many were hatched. Most chicks have been saved for now – although they may be eaten soon. Many local people took the chicks home,” the mayor was quoted in media reports. Isn’t it the cutest sight?
