It is not a stretch to argue that quite often, we consider a job switch or even have thought about it. In fact, many of you must have thought about one recently. And the reasons could be many! You may not like the job or bored or confused if you are in the right place. In maybe one of such bewilderment, a woman from US state Illinois visited a job fair secretly on her lunch break to apply in other companies. But it turned into a hilarious moment after local news broadcasted it! Yes, the 33-year-old Ja’Naea Modest’s misfortune post went viral on Facebook.
Last week, Modest heard about a local middle school holding a job fair. It was then when she decided to walk over and apply for an opening that interested her. Her plan was set! She told the BuzzFeed News, “I finished my shift that morning [and] during my break I hurried and went to change clothes, and went over to the job fair.” She filled her application with every information needed and went back to finish her regular shift. Easy? In this case, no! Modest friend’s father spotted her on the CBS news station WCIA 3. She figured that everyone in her town knew and so her workplace employees.
Ja’Naea Modest being broadcasted on a local news!
Modest had no idea that her entire act was getting filmed by any local news. “I was focused on the application — I did not know [the local news] was there. I had no idea what was going on — I came back, changed my clothes, and did the rest of my shift,” said Modest.
Modest is (still) employed by a non-profit organisation where she works with specially-abled people. She is also a DJ and wishes to excel in the field too. The reason, she applied for a new job so that she could save some money. Her post is not limited to Facebook any more. People have taken screenshots and shared it on all social media platforms imaging the awkward encounters with Modest’s manager. Well, it was indeed a misfortune to get caught this way!
